The long wait was well worth it for Vienna – on Wednesday a total of around 60,000 motorsport fans lined Vienna’s Rathausplatz square over the course of the day to follow the first Formula 1 show run in the Austrian capital up close. Daniel Ricciardo really put the pedal to the metal in the world championship-winning car from 2012 to convert the space between the Vienna landmarks of the Burgtheater and the Rathaus into a racing circuit with a world-famous backdrop.
